Beer Travelist Wins Silver Medal at 2019 North American Guild of Beer Writers Awards

2019 North American Guild of Beer Writers Awards

It was almost a year ago to the day that we announced our gold and bronze medals at the 2018 North American Guild of Beer Writers Awards, including top honors in the “Best Beer Blog” category. (A year later, we’re still over the moon about that one.) I’m so pleased to share news that Beer Travelist again medaled in this annual competition, this time a silver in the “Best Beer and Travel Writing” category for our story on Fat Fat Beer Horse in Xiamen, China. This was the only category we entered this year.

Along with a gold medal in 2017 for our feature on Bionic Brew—one of the 10 original stories with which we launched the site in May that year—we’ve now scored four medals in three years. That’s amazing and truly humbling. I can’t tell you how gratifying it feels for Beer Travelist to receive the recognition, particularly given the insanely high level of competition and quality of work we go up against every year. The full list of winning entries comprises some (not all) of the very best short- and long-form beer writing on the planet from the past year.

It’s a genuine honor to be mentioned alongside so many writers and brands we admire; I strongly encourage you to catch up on this year’s winning books, blogs, podcasts, and stories. As we look to 2020 (!) and our three-year anniversary (!!!), I’m exploring several ideas that I hope will help make Beer Travelist bigger and even better. For now, I just want to thank all of our readers and supporters for helping make this all possible.

Cheers,
